First, to introduce myself, my name is Jake and I have so many hopes for this blog. I have always craved a blog of my own: a platform to share my ideas, photography, beliefs, people I meet, and combined, artistic expression! At 15, I was inspired x1000 by Stephanie Nielson and her blog, NieNie Dialogues.
In mimicry, I went with the easiest route, blogspot. I really had fun with this, but I didn’t have the commitment or internal breadth, ultimately self-direction to keep it going. A failure! Something that I realize happened, I am okay with, and I am very grateful for, because I have learned so much since!
Next, I really tried to make things happen on social media, but in reflection, that was never really successful due to not being entirely pleased with the sharing capabilities and limits of the popular social media platforms. A blog/site/portfolio, a multi-use channel seems to be my savior of sorts. So here I am!!
To get back on track, I love social media and I definitely use it daily. I’m grateful that it stands as a bridge in many of the connections that I have in my life. I plan to use my Instagram in conjunction with this blog!
Now is the time for this to begin, a figurative wall, a continuous story, our worlds to come together, igniting beauty and inspiration!
As a ‘public service announcement’, I may get ranty, preachy, emotional, sappy, over-bubbly, I even reserve the right to be any other way, besides those qualities that would be inappropriate for this setting or outside of the character that I find absolute identity in! I promise to portray and be my sincerest self, sharing my art in a way that we can mutually enjoy and benefit to the deepest extent! If you’re reading this, well you are just amazing and I’m grateful to have been able to share this with you so far and can not wait for YOU to see more!
