My desire is that this will accentuate your Thanksgiving holiday and joy therefrom!
Without further ado, here it goes. I recently had a conversation with a friend, concerning the irony of “giving thanks” on this singular day of the year. Shouldn’t this be different structurally? Expressing true appreciation for all you have, on a regular basis? Being truly grateful becomes an attitude, a mindset, a way of living once instilled wholeheartedly and from a willing core. A way of living that we can make last three-hundred-sixty-five days a year.
Let’s set a goal to have deeper candor in our personal acknowledgement of all that we have: in regards to people, opportunities, knowledge, possessions, etc.
With this goal, take a moment while you are reading this to ponder three things that you are grateful for…imprint them in your mind, write them down, write it on your hand, put them in the comments below, tell your neighbor! Any of these acts of recognition pave the road toward distinct mindfulness, prompting gratitude. 🙂
I’m not usually one for the austere air of tough love, but ourpeacefulplanet makes an eye opening point:
“What if you woke up tomorrow and were only surrounded by the things you felt gratitude for daily…
what if you woke up tomorrow and were only surrounded by the things that you complained about daily…”
In closing of this piece, rather than listing out all the cliche, yet important blessings that I am grateful for, I wanted to utilize this platform to thank every beautiful soul that has reached out to me, as well as my family these past few months, full of love and care. We feel you and would be drowning without your support. Unquestionably grateful!
Know that you’re beautiful inside & out and that I am grateful for YOU!
Happy Thanksgiving!
