EMMA.

On a very cold day, last December, Emma and I were especially antsy for an adventure, but with six inches of snow on the ground outside, there unfortunately aren’t a lot of options.  We picked up some of the sweetest blush pink roses from the campus flower shop and knew the perfect place to explore, safe from the unfriendly chill of the outdoors!

Emma’s beauty matched with the stimulating virescent foliage of this greenhouse magnifies the composition of these photographs.  With every facial expression, every flutter of her eyes, her divine aura of serene elegance illuminates!  It’s as if this aura had a perfectly timed impact on the shutter of the camera.  As the mind and eyes behind the shutter of these moments, with candidly holistic humility, I am in unreserved awe of this collection of captures.

I value your regard to breathe in these photographs I have shared today!

To paint a backdrop beyond these still photographs, I have known Emma since the day I moved into my first college apartment.  She has been precious to me since that day and I am positively proud of her in every form!  These photographs are often a special way to not feel so far away from one of my best friends!  In two weeks, she’ll be leaving to serve a mission in Cape Verde for eighteen months.  Her decision to do so fills my heart with admiration and love for all that Emma is!  Although, I will miss her every single day she is gone!

I am grateful for Emma and all of the beautiful people that are put in our permanent and even daily paths.  I was at the grocery store the other day and felt the most genuine interaction from a bright and smiling cashier!  Despite every opportunity she may have had to be cold or less inviting, she displayed her greatest exuberance through loving others.

I believe that is best where our energy belongs, focusing on how we can positively affect those around us.  Be that person to cross another’s path, even if just for a flickering moment!

Happy Halloween my friends!  What are you dressing up as for Halloween this year?  Any Halloween traditions?

Happy Mid-Terms!  Happy November!  What ever time it is for you, specifically right now, I hope it is supercharged with HAPPY!

xoxo, Jake

  1. What a talented photographer with a great model! You’re so amazing. I was a meme and a banana this Halloween and every year my cousins and I all gather and trade candies.
